The Global Operations division of a major Oil & Gas company provided resources to the supply and trading arm to deliver change into the operational environment.
Recent changes in the company’s high-level strategy, including an increased IT project agenda, segmented business units and the consolidation of all IT operations, resulted in the division facing greater challenges in managing resource demand and satisfying customer’s requirements.
PA created a Portfolio Performance Management Group to act as a centralised demand management capability. We also developed ITIL processes for demand planning and reporting in three core focus areas of Portfolio, Resource and Capacity management, the group enabled the division to address their resource contentions and restore the division’s credibility as a service provider. This allowed our client to have clarity of demand, prioritisation of projects, forecasting of resource requirements, demand management tool implemented.
