One of PA’s clients had launched an IT infrastructure programme with the objective of transforming its existing capability into a best-practice trading infrastructure. As part of this programme, it asked PA to lead a project to provide consistent and robust disaster recovery (DR) arrangements that would achieve regulatory compliance.
The DR solution needed to provide recovery within a set time frame for mission critical applications from within a new secondary data centre. Once all DR solutions were accommodated within that centre, PA focussed on developing application recovery procedures as part of an overall DR plan. The final stage in the project was to organise an overall test of the DR plan.
PA was able to apply its knowledge of resilient IT infrastructures and service continuity management, together with disciplined project management, to rapidly deliver and test the required solutions and to strengthen the overall disaster recovery arrangements of the client.
As a result, the client was compliant with regulatory requirements, could continue to trade, and gained confidence from its enhanced operational capability.
