The government entity undertook a global search for strategic advisory consultants with world class experience of supporting government departments, and selected PA Consulting Group as their chosen advisors. PA’s considerable track record in taking our clients from strategy formulation through to successful implementation convinced them that we were the right partners for them in this work.

PA experts worked extensively with the entity to develop a tailored approach for strategic planning and its implementation.  We reviewed the entity's existing approach to strategic planning, then compared that with international good practice and identified key areas where change was needed. We provided detailed recommendations for improving the entity's approach to strategic planning, including making changes to performance and programme management to ensure that the strategic plans were subsequently capable of implementation. The client subsequently commissioned PA to assist it in the longer term implementation.

PA's work has been publicly commended by senior government ministers as an example of best practice. The entity has itself been asked to provide details of its approach to other departments within the government, thus recognising the best practice status it has now achieved within the region.
