Transforming customer service

To deliver better access, choice of service and improve efficiency, Northamptonshire County Council (NCC) engaged PA to transform its customer services to shift the focus from service delivery to customer focus.

Following PA’s work at the Council there is more emphasis on building the customer front line as a professional service and encouraging use of all access points including the call centres and the web.

PA’s customer strategy provided NCC with:

• a more customer-oriented approach understand which services should be externalised and over what timescales

• a review of their approach and governance against industry and sector good practice

• recommendations for redesigning the delivery model

• business case documentation outlining the potential benefits of the proposed approach

• a partner for implementation

• opportunities for improving customer service along with a wider view of all the activities connected with customer strategy development and implementation.

The business case is now in delivery across the council.
